Race Preview: Clarendon Day

The Pacers Arlington store is positively packed with people picking up their race packets for tomorrow's race.

The 10K course starts at Clarendon Blvd and Fillmore Street and runs along Wilson Blvd and then along Route 110 before hitting I-395 where it meets Route 1 in Crystal City before turning back. The 5K course also extends southward along Wilson Blvd and Route 110 but extends only to the Memorial Bridge.

The 5K starts tomorrow at 8:20 and the 10K starts at 9:00. A kid's dash will follow at 9:30.

Meet Tripp Southerland

Tripp's Story:
Tripp started running competitively 13 years ago where he helped lead Bishop Kenny to two cross country state championships. Southerland ran briefly at the collegiate level, then focused on studies, graduating with both a B.S. in Finance and Real Estate in '07 and an MBA in '09. He worked for two years at Deutsche Bank, Inc. while training half-heartedly before finding a renewed fire to compete. He moved to Washington, DC and has worked full-time as  the assistant (to the) manager at Pacers Arlington while focusing on road racing in a never-ending quest to lower his PR's.
